The presentation will focus on toxins and heavy metals that we may encounter in our everyday lives, their main sources of exposure, and the ways in which they can enter the human body.
Examples of heavy metals such as lead, mercury, cadmium, and arsenic will be discussed, together with potential sources of exposure through food, water, air, tobacco smoke, and the environment.
The presentation will then explain, in a simple and accessible way, how the human body has natural mechanisms for processing and eliminating unwanted substances, with important roles played by the liver, kidneys, gastrointestinal system, and other physiological processes.
Particular attention will be given to clinoptilolite, a naturally occurring zeolite with a characteristic microporous crystalline structure, and to its adsorption and ion-exchange properties, which have led to scientific investigation of its interactions with various substances and metals.
The presentation will also examine what current scientific research tells us about clinoptilolite, while clearly addressing the limitations of the available evidence, particularly regarding applications in humans.
The objective of the presentation is to provide a better understanding of our everyday exposure to toxins and heavy metals and to introduce the subject of zeolite through a scientifically responsible, clear, and accessible approach.
